Add Filter to Pipe & Database Connection FieldsSubmitted

A key issue with connected fields is that you have no way of constraining a user from selecting anything in a pipe or database. In many situations you want to:Pipes: Only allow them to select cards at a stage in a pipe (e.g. DONE) Database: Only allow them to select where a Field = certain value (e.g. a category value)This will make pipefy a lot more scalable for higher volume use cases. Otherwise the user has to do a lot of thinking and searching through many entries. I don’t believe there is any hack around this right now that makes sense. This is also very typical/ standard functionality elsewhere. So I was surprised not to find it given that in general pipefy is more flexible than other similar platforms.One hack I thought of was creating multiple databases instead of one (e.g. one database by category) - however that makes it a lot more complicated/ less well organized.I’ve seen this requested/ discussed in other areas of the community - example here:

Dynamic Content - No Longer Gives Access to Layers of Connected Fields

Background: We have some pipes that contain connected fields to other Pipes.It can look like this:PIPE 1 - the Pipe user’s useConnected Field to Pipe 2 Connected Field to Pipe 3 (in the start form for pipe 2) Problem: A few months ago access to the connected field in pipe 3 disappeared. This broke our pipes using dynamic content to show Pipe 3 data.Clarification: I’ve been told several times it’s a bug that is being worked on. But several months down the line I’m just wondering if the feature has been discontinued - it’s unusual for a bug to last so long. Would appreciate any input on this - it was a very cool feature/ that allowed us to really make the most of pipefy’s connected fields (probably the most valuable and differentiated feature). This downgrade in functionality has unfortunately has limited its use for us.

Add "Card Checklists" to the APISubmitted

The API is missing access to some of the objects in the card.Specifically, I’d like the Card Checklists to be added. Card checklists are very useful - but we haven’t considered using them due to this limitation.See the conversation here:

Creating Card Checklist via the API

I’ve been reviewing the API to see how to work with Card Checklists. Based on documentation there, I’m not sure where they are available.Two questions on this: Are Card Fields the way to list card checklists on a card: https://api-docs.pipefy.com/reference/objects/CardField/ Can we add card checklists via the Update Card Field: https://api-docs.pipefy.com/reference/mutations/updateCardField/ Appreciate any thoughts or experience on doing this. Long Text Fields don't accept any code being stored in them?

Have been running into this issue with the long text field when trying to store text that has some SQL syntax included:Quick fix: Is there a way to escape this so I can enter some code?  Long term fix: Should the data in long text fields in pipefy backend be stored in a way to avoid these errors?

Pipe "Dashboard" permissions for Restricted View Users

BACKGROUND:We have a pipe with ‘restricted view users’ so they only work on their items. However, we’d like them to see the dashboard charts.ISSUE:We’ve set the permissions to read only for them in the dashboard permissions. They are seeing no data in the charts (they see empty charts)Screenshotsthese are role permissions set for dashboard This is what the user’s see - the charts/ but no data in them (whereas I can see the data fine)

Prevent users from seeing/ accessing field

Scenario:A field is on start form which shouldn’t be used by the user An automation fills itIssue:To prevent users modifying it we make it a hidden field (conditional) When a field is hidden it seems that the automations don’t work?Question:Can you confirm this is expected behavior for Pipefy?  Am I missing a simple way to have non-user fields and have them updated in pipes?Potential Solution:If the API doesn’t have the limitation of automations (hidden fields not updatable) we could use the API to update the fields (if this is the best option, can you confirm that API works with hidden fields?)

GraphQL: Creating New Card via ConnectionField Update

I’ve got a bit stuck with this one in GraphQL.Background:I want to update a card which has a required connectionField (you need to create a new card, not link to an existing one). This ConnectionField is to a Pipe, where the start form has some required fields.GraphQL:I’ve been looking at using updateFieldsValues to achieve this, but don’t find how to:Update the conneciton field - which is equal to adding a new card via this connection field Filling in the required fields in this new card (so that it successfully is created)Appreciate any pointers or direction on this. If I haven’t made it clear enough please let me know, and I’ll improve the explanation.

Background:We have cards from Pipe A that have connected fields pointing to Pipe B (cards) We need to find all connected cards for Pipe A from lookups for Pipe BWhich Would be Best Method To Do ThisI am looking at this GraphQL API approach as the possible best route.https://api-docs.pipefy.com/reference/objects/CardRelationship/Using a search via Pipe ID (Pipe A’s ID) would this retrieve a list of all cards that are connected to Pipe B?New to GraphQL so may be misunderstanding this/ there may be a much better approach/ simpler.

Pipefy is rejecting a card creation based on the update for a long text field. The error doesn’t give me a lot to go on. New Roles - No Pipe Report Access for Any Custom Role

Is anyone else having the same problem as us?Situation: Any Custom Role we create in the Admin Dashboard has no access to Pipe Reports.How We’ve Tried adding new role via:Duplicate an existing role (e.g. Member) Start from ScratchThe Issue: No new role you create can see Reports in any Pipes. It gives an error: “We’re sorry, something went wrong.” So we can’t use them for anyone who needs access to any pipe report.Snapshot: Here is what someone sees when trying to view a report they can see as a member:

Creating Cards with Labels via API

Cards disappear/ Filters disappear on refresh

Is there a way to make the pipefy filters stick?Each time I refresh the filter disappears, and you have to click refresh to show the new cards just created. This wastes a lot of time.Solutions:Could we have cards not disappear when you move them to a new phase? and them appear live when you create them? This would avoid having to refresh and losing the filters

Bulk Edit CardsSubmitted

This was mentioned here as part of a bundle of requests, so I thought it better to highlight separately so we understand true demand for this item: Problem: Sometimes we need to edit mutliple cards for something in a pipe or database (e.g. give them all the same new drop down attribute we’ve added). This is very time consuming because of the way the cards open one by one.Solutions:Any type of bulk edit tool can fix this. The most often used in SAAS is a ‘check’ on the side (e.g. left side) that you click, with a drop down for what you want to bulk edit at the top e.g. Change field. Alternatively if you had a specific type of automation that could run through a pipe with a filter and modify cards that apply to the filter. E.g. all cards with FIELD A = XXX, THEN change FIELD B = YYY

Access to Records by Permissions

Situation: We have a list of contacts used in processes, which ideally should not be shared with anyone. As certain people only should be using some contacts e.g. the partner at our law firm would only be managing director contacting him.Pipe with Database Connected Field: In an issue resolution pipe we are making these contacts available so people can find the best people to talk to quickly by issue type.Question: Is there a way to set permissions for which ones display for one user vs. another?Brainstorming optionscould we have an assignee field on the contacts database - and this is checked before displaying the records? (this is a filter on the records presented in connected fields, which I think doesn’t exist in pipefy as yet)

Automations that need to run on specific dates

Reviewing Recurring Automations for use with accounting, legal and tax.I can’t find an option to schedule specific dates with recurring automations (e.g. VAT filing tasks, other tax filings, closing year, etc. etc.) - this seems counter intuitive since there are so many processes that require this.Am I missing something here or is this not possible currently? Thanks for clarification

Automations - Recurring Activity - Add Yearly / Quarterly option to cover all use casesSubmitted

This is a gap in the automations functionality that should be very quickly fixed.Background: There are only day, week and month options.Problem: This doesn’t cover many important use cases like quarterly, yearly (e.g. many financial/ filing tasks in particular are not every month, they have frequencies at longer durations)Suggested Fixes:There are two ways to fix this:Add a ‘yearly’ option where we pick yearly dates (I could create 4 automations to cover each quarter if needed this way, so covers all cases) (simplest for you) Add a “CUSTOM” timing - drop down of interval (day, week, month) and allow us to add the interval (e.g. 2). That would equal every 2 months on the 7th for example. (better longer term - check out how google calendar does this for a good example - just copy them)Please see the discussion here on this:

Record Level PermissionsSubmitted

Situation: Currently there is only pipe or database level permissions. This means in many cases you have to split out what could be one pipe or database into many if you want access permissions. It quickly becomes disorganized and harder to use.Idea: Add “Access Permissions” by an assignment field in records on pipes and databases.This seems to be a simple solution that would:A) introduce flexible security that would work with many different scenarios that different users of pipefy (companies)Keeps the security coherent with current set up of Pipefy (so limits development work)I may be missing implications here - but I know in our case this would be a gamechanger functionality that would simplify and reduce work and provide much better security for our company.This is a related thread on this:

How to Automate Assignment of Multiple Assignees

Background:I have an automation that gets Assignees from an Assignee field and add them to a different Assignee FieldProblem: When there is more than one assignee in the first field, it seems to break and does nothing It doesn’t seem to be able to handle the Assignee array / only single assigneesExample Use Case:Using assignee fields like this with automations can help to centralize permissions in one place by team or other grouping (e.g. the “TEAM Members” database) You can then allocate those assignments to cards in any other pipe.

Error on Importing Connected Fields to Pipe

Error: “Error on field "Old company link": Value You don't have permission to connect these cards/table records.”Whenever I import an exported pipe or database into a pipe the connected fields throw an error like the above.Background: Is there something I’m doing wrong? I am admin - so have all of the permissions on both tabels/ pipes.

Recurring Task Creation in Pipe with Backlog Phase

We have a pipe for managing tasks with these phases:Backlog To Do Working on it Done for Review DoneThis works well for managing tasks, we use the backlog to add things that aren’t completely defined, draft or not high priority yet.People start working on them with due dates when moved to “To Do”.The issue is for recurring tasks that we have weekly and monthly - looking at the recurring automation I’m not sure how to:Create a new task that is then moved from backlog to “to do” phaseIs there a way to use two automations to do this perhaps? However, you’d need to be able to check it’s an automated recurring task before moving it, perhaps with a specific task type field e.g. Manual, Auto.Would love any experience shares around this or thoughts. Thank you.

Add "Connected Fields - Pipes" to DatabasesSubmitted

The connected field type - Pipe doesn’t exist for Databases like it does in Pipes.It would make the Pipefy system a lot more flexible and reusable if this Connected Field option was also available in Pipefy.Currently we’re forced to create Pipes for some objects that could be databases, because they need to be able to have connected fields from pipes.

Multi-Phase FieldsSubmitted

Sometimes you want the same field to be present in multiple phases for easy editing. So I would call this a multi-phase field.For implementation I would suggest an additional field option, which is ‘other phase fields’ - where you can select fields from start from and other phases in the form designer.Here is a workaround @genietim  added to simulate this:And this may be a similar idea - i.e. similar user story/ need:

Creating Dynamic Links

My understanding is that there isn’t a way to create a dynamic link in Pipefy.e.g. for the Dynamic content field we can’t add the dynamic content field into the link URL of the add link tool.e.g. https://link.com/?var=pipefy-fieldSo I’m wondering if there’s something I’ve missed, or a way to potentially add a link via a text field with HTML or any way else around it?Appreciate any thoughts.
