What is the difference between a portal and a public form?

For example in this idea:

it is apparent, that there is a difference. What is it though? Slightly different features (custom URL, prefill), but the same results, no?

Hello @genietim, how are you doing today?

The ideas are similar. The main difference is that portals allow you to centralize orders you receive in your company or department from different public forms in one form place. You can add many pipes and their public forms in one portal and even divide them into groups. 

It is important to state, though, that public forms can be embedded on your website whilst portals can not.
