Overview
Critical operational processes require thorough auditability over automated decisions to prevent errors and bottlenecks in daily operations. The update to AI Agent logs introduces five new tracing nodes, allowing full inspection of every lookup, search, calculation, or reasoning step before any action is taken on a card. To trace these steps, go to AI Agents > Logs > See Details > Tracing.
What's new?
- Data Lookup: displays the data sources consulted and records returned from databases during execution.
- Web Search: reveals the exact search queries and internet results used by the agent.
- Calculations & Analysis: shows the code executed in a secure sandbox and its resulting values.
- Max Effort: outlines the agent multi step iterative reasoning path for complex evaluations.
- Plain Text: verifies that plain text instructions and rules loaded successfully.
How does this help?
- Eliminates blind spots in critical workflows: delivers complete visibility into decision steps prior to field updates or card movements.
- Accelerates troubleshooting: pinpoints the root cause of data discrepancies or missing context without manual log parsing.
- Scales orchestration with confidence: provides auditable control for process managers expanding agent adoption across core operations.
Use cases
Procurement Analyst auditing quote variations in a Purchasing workflow.
Upon noticing an unexpected supplier price during purchase order approval, the analyst opens the agent tracing view. The Web Search node displays the public queries and market rates retrieved by the agent, confirming price shifts without re running searches manually.
Reimbursement Lead reviewing currency conversions in Finance.
While validating international travel expense reports with attached receipts, the manager opens the agent log. The Calculations & Analysis node details the currency conversion formulas and math executed in code, allowing immediate payout approval with confidence that no math was hallucinated.
IT Support Lead verifying permissions lookup in ITSM.
On an urgent system access ticket, the process owner reviews the triage agent run. The Data Lookup node shows the query sent to the employee database and the matching records returned, confirming the ticket routed to the correct queue within the 15 minute SLA window.
Process Specialist validating updated rules in Onboarding.
After updating the onboarding policy for new hires, the pipe admin monitors initial agent runs. The Plain Text node verifies that the newly added guidelines loaded correctly into the agent memory, ensuring full compliance with the updated policy.
